AMPLIFIER FOR GLUCOSE LEVEL FOR 1550NM PHOTODIODE AND IRLED

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: INA122

We need help to get the correct Transimpedence amplifier for using the 1550nm photodiode, and 1550nm IRLED.  pls. confirm if INA122 is suitable, or we can use any other amplifier to get the appropriate result

  • Hello Jagannathan,

I don't think that an instrumentation amplifier such as the INA122 would be the best choice for an accurate transimpedance amplifier. Most often, a low-input bias current operational amplifier (op amp) such as one with a FET input is used. But before you settle on searching for the best op amp I suggest you research some of the many discussions that have already been posted to the E2E forums about transimpedance amplifiers for photodiode applications. Also, take a look at these blogs about transimpedance amplifiers by my colleague, John Caldwell. See " Part I, II, and III - What op amp bandwidth do I need? (Transimpedance Amplifiers)". They should get you off to a good start:

When I mention searching the E2E forums for information on a transimpedance amplifier for photodiode applications use the "Search through millions of questions and answers" block at the top of the page. I entered "transimedance + photodiode" and pages of E2E discussions on the subject were listed.
