TL074C failure

Dear support,

we are using your TL074C in a lot of our electronic boards. The design of the board is now almost 10 years old and haven't changed and it worked so far.

Never the less since 1 1/2 year we do have a lot of Problems with our electronic boards. We investigated them to find the root of cause and found out that the TL074C doesn't work any more. It Shows several failurs sometimes the Output is at his Limit whereat it shouldn't, sometimes the Output has an Offset which it shouldn't or it is not working any more.

Do you have heard about those failures the last year from other customer? Do you have had any Problems in your production the past year?

I have some of the production number of the failure devices.

Leif,

I am not aware of any problems with TL074C. Is just one amplifier failing or is it all four amps?
How many locations on the board is this part used? Do all locations fail or just one location?

Hi Ron,

On some boards we have more than one TL074C in use and I can't say that all of them fail or not. It is really curious sometimes they work and one hour later they don't work anymore.

If a device fails I have measured most of the time that all 4 amps fail.

We already thought about the temperature or humidity conditions but the boards already fail under labor conditions.

Is there a possibility that we sent you one or two of the failing devices and you're able to investigate the root of cause?

Hi Ron,

thank you for your help so far. We are still searching for the root of cause and trying to think in every direction.

We would like to know if it is allowed to wash the PCB with a TL074C device after soldering with ultra sonic. We weren't able to find this Information in the datasheet. Do you have an additional document how to treat the devices during and after soldering?
