Hi Weiji,
The metal can version was discontinued a while ago due to the cost of the package and low volumes.
The DIP and SOIC versions will continue to be produced, but I would not use a DIP package for new designs.
Existing designs should switch to the SOIC-8 pinout ASAP as the distributors will run out of stock of the metal can eventually and no competitors offer the metal can package.
If the layout cannot be redone, there are generic 1:1 adapter boards available to adapt the can pinout to SOIC.
