Hello Forum;
I am wanting to sense a 5V-3.1V rail current and use this same rail for the IC VCC.
I don't see any examples of this so wanted to ask the experts if this is acceptable.

Hi Ed,

No problem on using the same rail. I must warn you to make sure your shunt voltage is not less than 20mV for good accuracy.

Ed,

Since your customer is at such low common mode voltage - consider switching to the new INA301 - much more accurate, higher slew rate, and maybe most importantly - eliminates the low VSENSE issue.
