Reg OPA211AID device marking

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: OPA211

Dear All,

I ordered few samples from TI for part OPA211AID, in datasheet device marking is showing as OPA211 A, whereas in samples i received it is showing as OPA211 K, please advise why is it so? what does K stands for? whether A & K remains the same? kindly advise

Aravind.

  • Hello Aravind,

You ordered the OPA211AID so you should have received OPA211 devices in the SO-8 package. If that isn't the case, then you were sent the devices in a different package. However, if they are in the SO-8 package, then they should be marked OPA211 on the top as opposed to having an abbreviated model code.

If the "K" doesn't immediately follow the OPA211 marking, ie there is a space between the last "1" and the "K" that letter could be a site assembly code. The model line on the OPA211 would appear something like OPA211__K. If that is the case, then that would  explain the "K."

If the OPA211AID product was obtained through your authorized TI Distributor, then the product should be genuine TI product and marking legitimate.

  • Dear Sir,
If instead of letter "K", if it is mentioned as letter "A" after OPA211, is that also stands for site assembly code. Could you please help to advise letter A belongs to which site assembly code and letter K belongs to which site assembly code, hope there is no other difference, please help to clarify the same.

    Rgds,
    Aravind.
  • Hi Aravind,

There should be an "A" in the upper left corner indicating the "A" grade. The "K" is in the Assembly Site Code (S) location on the top surface. The OPA211AID product marked "K" as a site code is packaged in Malaysia. Here are the marking details:

If you would like to see what the OPA211AID marking looks like, Google "images" shows various examples. Here's a good example from a TI distributor in Europe:

Yours should appear very similar to the image shown.
