THS7530

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: THS7530

Hello,

I want to use THS7530.

I wonder if I can input a differential signal between VG+  and VG-.

If yes what should be this signal? (from min. gain to max. gain.

In the Spice model the VG- is connected to VS-(GND) so baisicaly  it a single ended application.

Thanks,

Giora

  • Hello Giora,

The VG- to VG+ can use a differential signal. This is the voltage that sets the gain. The signal can be from 0V to 1V. See page 6 of the datasheet for the full description of these pin functions.

  • Loren,
    Thanks.
Also I have strange behavior - when the amp is in saturation output does not stay at saturation voltage when increasing the gain,
instead it is dropping down. Can you explain? Can we avoid this behavior?

  • Hello Giora,

I don't have an answer for this question. Amplifier behavior in saturation is always a little unpredictable, and then when variable gain is added it makes it even more complicated.

One possible explanation is that as the gain is changed, the portion of the circuit that is in saturation is changing. Most amplifiers have multiple stages, usually one will saturate first.
