High Speed OpAmp for Schmitt Trigger

I'm working on a research project where we are firing a UV LED at a rate on the order of 1 MHz.  Each pulse is about 1 ns long, and we are reading a lot of noise and seeing reflections in our oscilloscope.  We are attempting to build a Schmitt Trigger using an Op Amp, but do not currently own one capable of rising and falling within the 1 ns pulse.  If there is a Schmitt Trigger that TI sells that meets these requirements, what part number is it and what is its price.  If not, what Op Amp should I use to build a simple Schmitt Trigger for this

  • Hello Thomas,

This forum is for high speed amplifiers, the schmidt trigger would be in the logic forum. In general it would be easier to build a schmidt trigger from a comparator than an op amp. Op amps are designed for linear operation and may be slow to come out of saturation when used as a comparator.

Maybe this app note will help:
