Transistor for an Op-Amp

I've been looking for a new transistor to use in a differential pair. The differential pair will be part of an op-amp, which will be used in a sample and hold circuit. The supply voltage will be 0 to 5V and the input signal will go up to 100 kHZ with around 100 to 300 mV P-P swing. Can you recommend an N-channel MOSFET and/or JFET that will work for my project?

  • Hi Michael,

TI doesn't offer discrete JFET and MOSFET components for these types of applications. There is a line power MOSFETs, but they are intended for power applications. If I were going to construct a discrete op amp, or sample-hold circuit, I would look to Linear Systems for high-performance, dual JFET and bipolar transistors. A an example, the LSK389C:

Their website should give you a good idea of what is available.
