INA216A1 / about input bias current

Hi Toshiyuki-san,

The datasheet shows a typical value of 3uA under followng conditions: VCM = VIN+= 4.2V. I simulated that in TINA and I see 16uA as you see in your simulation so I reviewed our raw data from characterization to verify real numbers. Raw data says exactly what the datasheet reflects, typical number is 3uA. For this reason I believe the TINA reference design model is not reflecting the real Ib numbers. Unfortunately, the TINA team is an external group and fixing the reference design could take few weeks.

Thank you for the replay. Our costomer is considering INA219A1 for optical module application.We don't have INA216EVM. Please let me know when the modified model is released.

Hi Toshiyuki,

As I explained before it is an external group that works on this models. As they told me they have a long queue. They will contact me once they confirm the problems with the model and will provide delivery date for any revisions.

Can you please order samples for the customer? Can your customer test the device in a lab? At this point I believe that will be our best bet. The device they have should perform under device specs, they should not be seeing the 16uA's they are seeing in the model.
