LMV761 questions ---

Britt-

Now, I am working on a new circuit that has a slot for the LMV761.

Your 'open' Spice model does execute in LtSpice, however some of output results seem unusual when operating within the new design.  For example, when the chip is delivering about ±17mA (while keeping a nearly rail-to-rail output swing) through a 300 Ohm resistor into the joined bases of a PNP/NPN transistor pair configured as a unity gain buffer (transistors and '761 operating from a single 5v rail) , the simulated rise and fall times are typically below 1nsec, despite the large (for a fast comparator) drive currents.  Note however, that these peak currents, FWHM~10nsec, appear only at the edges of the output pulses. diminishing thereafter to much smaller values.  Are these results correct? - if so, this is one DANDY device.   In any case, please let me know what the values of these two parameters may be for normal production devices used in this simple circuit.  Some data regarding the variance of these parameters over the -40°C to +60°C range would also be useful.     And one last question:  can I expect that this device will have a long projected production lifespan (=non-obsolescence)?  If so, I will surely sleep better.

thank you,  bill

  • Bill,

Glad to hear that the "syntax errors" are gone. Ideally, I would need to look at the circuit to determine if the model is acting correctly or if there is some other anomaly occurring with the circuit. The may be a result of the ideal components used in the model.

As for the other questions about temperature variance and long production life, I am not the correct person to answer those questions. I will move the post to the product group as they may have more insight into those kinds of questions.
