AMC1301 Behavior with out of spec of VCM

Hi

AMC1301 has two kind of VCM which are specified common-mode input voltage and Absolute common-mode input voltage.

Why are two VCMs defined as electrical characteristics in the datasheet?

If AMC1301 violates these VCM spec, what is the output?  Is output clipped?

  • Hi na na78,

The 'specified' common mode input level of the AMC1301 is what we would consider the normal operating point of the device. The 'absolute' common mode level is there to help you identify a system failure. Please refer to section 8.3.2 in the AMC1301 datasheet.
