OPA365 GBW

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: OPA365

The GBW of the OPA365 is specified at V+ = 5V on the datasheet. However, there is no information about the GBW at lower V+. The part is specified to operate from 2.2V < V+ < 5.5V. I will be operating at 3.5V. I do require a GBW of 50MHz at this supply voltage. Is there any data on the GBW at this supply voltage?

Thanks,

Dan

  • Dan,

A bandwidth in CMOS part like OPA365 changes as a square-root change in the Itail current biasing the input differential pair which is proportional to IQ.  Thus looking at Fig 10 of the datasheet you may see that it will typically decrease by sq-rt(4.3mA/4.6mA) or about 3.4%.

Having said that since 50MHz is a typical bandwidth and not a minimum, it may change much more (by up to +/- 15%) due to normal wafer process variation.

  • Marek,

That's good news. I should be fine.

    Thanks,

    Dan
