DRV425 with ferromagnetic material

These days, I am considering use the DRV425 for high current sensor and I did test by using DRV425 EVM.

For our project, I have several questions.

Block diagram of the datasheet shows the fluxgate sensor and compensation coil. And fluxgate sensor is repeatedly driven for saturation out.

Q.1. When VDD apply to DRV sensor, Current in the coil flows always?

Q.2. I want to know V_out(output)’s behavior when the ferromagnetic material close to the sensor.

    Q1)  Once VDD is applied there should be a delay in milliseconds but not sure on exact time before the part starts driving the coil to compensate any magnetic field seen by the fluxgate in the axis of sensitivity.  This includes but not limited by the earths magnetic filed(~70uT).

    Q2)A ferromagnetic material will absorb or concentrate magnetic fields depending on the mechanical placement and shape of the material.  In other words the ferromagnetic material could act as a shield or as a concentrator.  A good tool to determine what happens in you specific application is too use a magnetic simulator like FEMM which is a free tool to simulate in 2D.
