TLV3012 Low temperature problem

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLV3012, TLV3012-EP

Good morning,

we are testing TLV3012 at low temperature -40°C and some problem happened during test.

Testing condition: Supply voltage 5Vdc, power up circuit at -40°C, application railways. Climatic chamber is on a qualified lab (intek spa). Circuit picture followed.

After power up voltage reference is not +1,23 but is lower about 1,04 or less. Also comprator does not switch. It seems hang.

Question: it is available TLP3012-EP? Whi not samples available?

Our board has 24 input channels. About 30% of devices give errors. At -35°C all seems good

Thanks

Giovanni

  • Hello Giovanni,

Sorry to hear about the problem you are observing with the TLV3012 at cold. I don't find anything about your application circuit that is unacceptable to the TLV3012 operating conditions. The commercial grade TLV3012 should be within specification at -40C and functional to -55 C, so it appears that if your chamber temperature is correct that the devices may be exhibiting a cold start-up issue. You can request a failure analysis through your TI product distributor if you are convinced that there is a product performance issue. They should be able to provide you the necessary documentation.

The TLV3012-EP ehanced product is supported by TI's High Reliability product group. They have an E2E forum and should be able to anser your question about samples. You can find a link to their forum here:
