TLV2711 pins IN+ and IN-

Hi : Customer was asking, on the TLV2711 pins IN+ and IN-, are there diodes that clamp these inputs to either Vdd+ or Vdd-?. If there are, at what voltages on the inputs would I expect to see current being conducted through these.

They are trying to evaluate circuitry they have designed to protect the inputs of this amplifier to voltage / current over stress events.

    I checked our archives and we don't have the detailed documentation for the TLV2711. I just placed an order for some devices and will have to make some bench measurements. It will be a few days until they arrive and I am able to make the measurements. Then I will be able to answer this question.

    I received the TLV2711 devices and evaluated the inputs using a DMM diode function. The input ESD cell doesn't appear to consist of a simple diode to the the Vdd+ pin as is common in many op amps. It appears to be a more complex structire, possibly an SCR. Like all ESD cells I have examined the ESD cell does ereduce to a diode relative to the Vdd- pin.

    The Input voltage range Absolute Maximum Rating is Vdd+ on the positive end so we do not recommend exceeding that maximum. If they stay below that maximum nothing in the ESD protection should turn on. If they drive the input below Vdd- the ESD cell diode will become forward biased and start to turn on.
