LM55 with configuration as time limiter 110us, output current is limited by back to back jfets to 65mA, still the 555 output get damaged when in short (current up to 65mA).

Data sheet info 200mA sink source capability.
The output is still active as 110us pulse but the voltage is only ~1V after the short (short removed) . Short, where current was limited to 65mA.
