INA199 divider resistor

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: INA199

Dear Sir

Our current rating is 9A if I use 10mohm shut resistor ,the output voltage will over than 3.3V (INA199B1) =9A*0.01ohm*50=4.5V

Can I use below divider resistor on INA199's output side ??

Thanks

  • Dear Kai,

It depends. If you are only concerned about DC measurement, then this should be possible. If you need to measure AC current, however, the capacitor will have effects on your gain at higher frequencies. The addition of the resistor will also add additional uncertainty to your measurement.

I would recommend instead reducing the value of your shunt, as you will not add any additional error to your system if your shunt tolerance remains the same. By quick calculations, you would need to move to around 7mohms.

    Hope this helps.
