LMH6655: Part Damage

Will the LMH6655 be damaged if the + input is driven (voltage follower configuration) with any voltage and both power pins are not connected to power? I believe it will not be damaged because there is no current path to ground or supply.

Hi Dave,

I've not tested the LMH6655 this way, but I also tend to agree with you that this should not damage the device.

Have you encountered a failure this way?

I want to power down some of these devices to save power but have a driven signal into the + input of the part. Do you know if there is a current limit in this condition where the power supply is attached to the part but the supplies are not on?

Hi Dave,
In most cases, keeping the input current to below +/-10mA ensures that the device will not be harmed.
