DRV421: DRV421 vs DRV401

Part Number: DRV421
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV401

Dear Technical Support Team,

I have a question about DRV421.

Some specifications of DRV421 is down than DRV401 below?

Do you know the reason why?

I guess that DRV421 includes Fluxgate Sensor and it effect some specifications.

■DRV401 Differential AMP Drift

■DRV421 SHUNT SENSE AMP Drift

■DRV401 Voltage reference

■DRV421 Voltage Reference

  • Hi ttd,

Thanks for using TI E2E forums. We recieved your question, I am forwarding to DRV devices apps engineer. He will get back to you later today.

  • Hello ttd,

The Vref is not the same reference for both parts and there are tradeoffs.  The output VREF on DRV401 is only 2.5 and the VREF on the DRV421 has multiple outputs.  The devices have some differences and tradeoffs that make them different.  Is there a specific application that you need assistance in deciding between the two.  Please let me know and I can address the concerns so you can select the best product for you application.

    Hi Javier Contreras,

    Thank you for your reply.

Does it mean that it is different architecture for following spec(VREFOUT and drift) of voltage reference between DRV401 and DRV421?

    Best Regards,
