OPA333: Reference design quesiton

Part Number: OPA333
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TIDA-00639

Hello,

Below is TIDA-00639 600-V Unidirectional Current sensing design. But I have one question as block diagram. Does OPA333 support 600V common mode range? Why 600V DC bus input OPA333 input directly? Thank you.

BR

Patrick

  • Hello Patrick,
Unfortunately it appears as though the author of this design did not use connection dots, which makes it a little difficult to understand the schematic. Nonetheless the idea is that the OPA333 is powered by the 600V bus and the zener provides V-. The output is then ground referenced using the FETs. The same idea is shown in Figure 30 in the OPA333 data sheet. Perhaps the figure in the data sheet will make it clearer.
