XTR115: XTR115 Vreg maximum capacitance

Part Number: XTR115

What is the maximum capacitance I can put between Vreg (pin 8) and Iret (pin 3)?

Is 10uF ok?

Is 100uF ok?

Any possible instability issues like the Vref pin?

    Hello,

    The regulator output is similar to other common LDO circuits and stability issues can arise from very large capacitance values on the output without any series resistance. If you make sure the capacitance has a small resistance in series with it, perhaps from the ESR of the capacitor, then the circuit should remain stable. We recommend around 1 Ohm of resistance.

    Please note that upon power-up the large capacitance will take some time to charge resulting in a slower startup.
