THS6214: THS6214 aplication question

Part Number: THS6214

I have 3 questions to ask, pls help to give some advise, many thanks!

1.In THS6214 application use 12V power supply, when the external 15V interference continued to interupt  Pin D1OUT & D2OUT, it can be destroy the IC or what influence about the IC?

2.Intended to enlarge the 1+2.2*2/0.33 = 14.3 times, the feedback resistor using the 2.2K and 330 Ω value could be OK ?  How about the stability of the loop?

3.The value of capacitance used on 12V power supply according to what the principle?

  • Hi Yuan,

    To answer your questions:

    1. It is possible to damage the IC output pins if the output pins D1Out and D2Out are subjected to an external 15V interference while the THS6214 supply is 12V. Do you have any isolation resistors connected at the output pins?

    2. Yes. The feedback resistor using the Rf of 2.2k and Rg of 300 ohm value should be good, and is a stable circuit.

    3. The capacitance value used on 12V power supply is to filter out any high frequency transients on the supply lines. Usually, low ESR and ESL value multi-layer capacitors are used for decoupling purposes so that the self-resonance is at a higher frequency. You can use a 2.2uF + 0.1uF decoupling capacitor from each supply to GND in your application. Detailed schematic and layout details are available here:

    Best Regards,
