INA169-Q1: INA169QPWRQ1 Output problem/TSSOP package

Part Number: INA169-Q1

Hi everyone!

I have a problem with a current shunt monitor. I used a INA169QPWRQ1 in 8pin TSSOP package, 2mOhm shunt resistor (Rs) and 34kOhm ouput resistor (Rl). Maximum measuring current is 40A, so my maximum output voltage should be 2,72 V, but I get a lot less (max ~200mV). Votage supply V+ is 5V (pin 8). Vin- (pin 1) is connected between shunt resistor and load, Vin+(pin 2) is connected to 24V. Pin 4 is connected to GND, pin 6 is output votage. I used the documentation: www.ti.com/.../ina169-q1.pdf

What is wrong?

Thanks!

  • Pawel,

I see you've attached a TINA model. Is this just for setup and reference? Are you having these issues in simulation, or in real world test?

If a real circuit, are you using your own PCB or an EVM to make the measurements? Could you probe across the input pins of the device, as well as at the output pin of the device, and let me know what you are seeing on each side? How are you receiving the 200mV output? Are you measuring it via scope/DMM or displaying it across a terminal (feeding it into another device)?

  • Problem solved. One via was GND was non-conductive.

    Thank you very much!
