INA219: Vin+- leakage current with chip powered down

I have an application where Vin+ and Vin- have up to 3.0V on these pins with all other pins at 0V. Is the leakage current on Vin+ and Vin- still at 1uA max?

Hi Kevin,

Thanks for using TI current shunt monitors. This spec is based on no voltage applied to any pins (power down). If you have voltage in any pins you can expect higher leakage currents. What is the application?

I have a handheld device that runs on 2-NiMH cells. The INA219 Vin+- sense pins will always have 1.8 - 2.8V on them, regardless if main power (3.3V) is applied or not. So, except for Vin+ and Vin- pins, all other pins will be at 0V.

This is why I want to know the leakage current.

Hi Kevin,

Thanks for the application info. As I mentioned before you can expect higher leakage currents. I recommend you perform some testing in these conditions to find out if the extra leakage current is acceptable for your application.
