Find a amplifier that can amplify a square wave signal with high frequency.

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TL084

In our case, we want to boost a high frequency square wave signal (8Vpp, 100kHz) that generated by VCO, and require a output signal with high voltage and current (80Vpp, 100kHz, >500mA) to drive a piezo actuator. Is there any IC can boost this high frequency square wave signal?

Thanks for all help!

  • Normally a TL084 would do the job, but i have problems with the components that i bought, it seems like TI is making poor design in their new components, i have an old tl084 TI brand, from 2015 that works as a comparator perfectly even for 400 000Hz, and many from ST, but all the new TL084 from TI that i have, they do not work!!!! and we are losing money for this... i won't recommend TI for this matter.
  • OK!
    I got it.
    Thanks for your support!
  • Yi-Bin,

Do you need an amplifier or a driver?
If input was 7.5Vpp input would output need to be 75Vpp? If true, then amplifer might be better.
If input square wave simply controls a 80V driver to actuator then a driver would be better.
What low and high voltage supply rails are available for this application?
