PGA308EVM: How does the PGA308EVM be configured for three-wire mode

Part Number: PGA308EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PGA308

Hi,

I want to configure PGA308EVM for three-wire mode,  so I set JUMP1 to Vout to 1W, JUMP7 to one to Vout. JUMP8(in the USB DAQ Platform ) to SPD_UP.

But it doesn't work. The software show "One Wire Time Out".

Thanks.

Best regards.

Ricardo Li

  • Hello Ricardo,

It sounds like your jumper settings are correct. However, you also need to configure the EVM software for three-wire mode so the communication will work properly. In three-wire mode, the power supply to the PGA308 must be cycled each time communication occurs.

If you want to experiment with settings on the Block Diagram tab, click the "One-Wire and Output Config" button and then check the boxes for "OWD" and "One-Wire Connected to VOUT" as shown below. Sorry about the graphical bugs - this software has some rendering issues in newer versions of Windows.

If you wish to perform a calibration on the PGA308 from the Calibration tab, click the "Select Cal Preset" button, then the "One Wire and Output Config" button, then finally check the boxes again for "OWD" and "One-Wire Connected to VOUT" as shown below. Make the rest of your settings as required, then begin the calibration process step by step.
