LM2904: Vcc Absolute Maximum Ratings

Hi all,

The absolute maximum rating of VCC is stated as ± 13 or 26 V in the data sheet.

My customer want to use Vcc=3.3V,GND=-15V.

If there is a problem please tell me why there is a problem.

Vcc-GND=3.3-(-15)=18 < 26.

Hello Koji,

There shouldn't be a problem with your customer's implementation of the LM2904 at Vcc = 3.3V, GND = -15V since it is within the supply range. One thing to keep in mind, however, is the Common-mode input voltage range and output voltage swing limitations. In this case they both seem to be 1.5V from Vcc.

I thought ± 13 V was up to Vcc = 13 V and GND = -13 V.
What is the lower limit?
Is the lower limit value Vcc = 0 V, GND = -26 V?

Hello Koji,

Vcc = 0V, GND = -26V would be fine as well since you are still within your maximum supply voltage range (Vcc - GND = 26V). This would be the lowest limit before concerns begin to occur.
