VCA 2615 Problems

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: VCA2615

Hi.. I am using the Variable Gain Amplifier VCA 2615.

When I use only the LNP the circuit works, but the gain characteristics are different that the characteristics that are in the datasheet.

When I try to use the VGA, the circuit begins to use 160 mA.

I am connecting the circuit like the in the evaluation kit but over a protoboard.

Do you know if the VCA2615 could be damaged?

Do you know if it requires some special requirement?

  • Hi John,

Can you be a little more specific about the problems?  When you say protoboard, does that mean you are not using the EVM kit?  Is this like a breadboard?

When you say that the gain characteristics are different than the datasheet, can you elaborate the difference?

What do you mean that you tried to use the VGA?  What is the current draw when Vcntl is 0V?
