TINA simulation schematic for two node PLC ,using AFE031.

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TINA-TI, AFE031

AFE031 , Analog Front End  for DC PLC (power Line Communication) has a TINA simulation schematic , but there is no documentation available on how to use this file in TINA-TI . I've gone through the data sheet of AFE031 which also has a DAC but this simulation does not include any DAC and some pins of AFE031 are also missing in the TINA simulation or have different pin names.

I need to  implement a PLC over a 24V DC line. i already have encoded data and only need the analog front end , as a POC  i'm trying to simulate this situation using the given TINA file.

any documentation or help on configuring the two AFE031's available in the simulation as Tx and Rx and inputting encoded data?

thanks in advance.

  • Hello Raviteja,

I am attaching a link to the user's guide that goes over the blocks and a typical simulation.  The DAC is emulated with a unique OFDM signal generated by a piecewise linear voltage source.  Each signal starts with a constant 0 volts period for 300-μs followed by six consecutive OFDM symbols (1.28 ms per symbol) synthesized with 36 equidistant and equipotential tones modulated using DQPSK, starting at 35.9 kHz and ending at 90.6 kHz.  If you have anymore questions on PLC feel free to ask and can help.
