OPA128: process technology + ESD rating for device

Part Number: OPA128

Hi,

I have a question regarding the process technology for the OPA128.

We know from the datasheet that the inputs are based on DiFET technology, but we would like to understand if the rest of the device is Bipolar/BiCMOS/Other.

Would you be able to provide me that info along with the ESD rating?  Please feel free to email this directly to me.

Thanks,

David

  • David,
OPA128 output stage uses all NPN transistors. Since its input bias current, IB, is very low (in tens of fA), OPA128 does NOT have ESD protection diodes, which alone would cause current leakage around +/-1pA at 25 deg C. Also, knowing that it was designed over 30 years ago, I do not believe it was tested for ESD rating, thus the only ESD protection it has comes from very large input JFET transistors themseves.
