XTR111: XTR111 - input impedance

Part Number: XTR111

Dear community,

I could not find an answer online and the TI online chat could not help me out with this question either.

The XTR111 datasheet states in the datasheet that the input impedance has the unit:

GΩ/pF

I haven´t seen such a unit for an input impedance before and wondered to what the capactiance referes to or rather how I can approximate the input impedance for my applications if I would like to use the XTR111? Do I need to determine the capactiance between my input signal and ground?

Thank you in advance!

  • Hi Jan,

The input impedance refers to what the equivalent resistance/capacitance to ground would be for anything looking into the input of the XTR. The GOhm/pF representation means you could consider the XTR to look like a load consisting of a 2.4GOhm resistor and a 30pF capacitor. This is a very high input impedance so unless you are driving the XTR with a very high impedance source, it shouldn't be a concern.
