INA226: ALERT pin functionality & Interoperability with TCA9517A

Part Number: INA226
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TCA9517A

Hi,

  1. I plan to use the TCA9517A between a 3.3V powered INA226 and a Xilinx Kintex-7 FPGA powered by 2.5V. I'm assuming this is straightforward (2.5V or 1.8V powered FPGA on the A side, 3.3V powered INA226 on the B side) but wanted to run it by you all just in case there was anything about the INA226 that might not play nicely with the TCA9517A. I would be operating at or below the 400 KHz rate, and if advised by you all, could limit it to 100 KHz. All parts are on the same card (so no cables or excessive capacitance on the I2C bus).
  2. For the INA226 I need to confirm the ALERT pin is never an input. I need to translate it from 3.3V to 2.5V as well, and plan to use a unidirectional ioff rated buffer for that. Obviously this would be a problem if ALERT ever needed to function as an input. So I'm asking just to be sure there is not any special case or mode where ALERT needs to act as an input and receive a signal from the I2C bus master.

Thank you.
