CC2595EVM: cc2595 EVM Gerber files

Part Number: CC2595EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2595

Is the Gerber Files for the cc2595 available?

Or do you know where can I find the guidelines in order to design a functional enough RF Design for the amp?

Thanks a lot for the help!

  • Unfortunately I do not have the Gerber files available for this design. The User's Guide shows the schematic and a plot of the layers. The package is in a standard 3x3 mm 16-pin QFN. The package information / dimensions are available in the device datasheet and on TI web. With that information I think that you should be able to reproduce the design for your purpose.

  • Dear RJ Hopper thank you very much again for the help!
I was thinking of converting it to a 2 layer design! In such an occasion can you suggest me of a preferable design? (Should I put GND-Vcc Routings to Bottom plane and Signal and RF Routings to Top plane or something different?)
  • A two-layer design is possible but generally not recommended to maintain best RF performance. I understand the desire to go 2-layer for cost and easy fabrication.

In a four-layer design the RF traces are kept on the top layer as much as possible. Typically the layer 2 is kept all ground so that the RF return currents have an unimpeded path to flow. Then you can route other control or power traces on layer 3 or 4.

With a 2-layer design you will have to be very careful to keep the ground under the RF traces and devices in-tact and minimal routing on the second layer so that it can stay solid as much as possible.
