LPV821: noob question about op-amps

Dear,

I have no previous experience with op-amps.

I have used the TI selection tool but, to be honest, the number of parameters is overwhelming :)

During my preliminar searches, seems LPV821 could be a candidate for a project involving a msp430 and a sensor which outputs up to 60 mV.

Unfortunately, I would like to perform first tests in my breadboard so I would need a DIP package to begin with.

Afterwards, I can design my board in EAGLE with any candidate but would like to start like this.

So, my question is simple. Can you give me your recommendation for some TI product similar to LPV821 (low current consumption and low uV / ºC) but presenting a DIP package?

Hello Kazola,

For breadboarding with a DIP at similar supply current levels, I would recommend the TLV2401 ("P" version).

There are also DIP adapter boards available to adapt the TLV8801 package to a DIP. These are listed in the 'Tools and Software ' tab of the product folder.

For a sensor that outputs low level voltages such as the one you are describing, it is best that you stick with a zero-drift amplifier such as the LPv821. It is also very understandable that you want to breadboard your circuit before committing to creating a printed circuit board. we have anticipated your need to do this and have created little PCBs that you can order that convert our SOT23 into an 8-pin DIP footprint that will work well in your breadboard. Here is the link for the board you need to order.

You will find most of the popular surface mount footprints in this kit and will be able to use this for future experiments as well. But don't forget to order samples of the LPV821 because they do not come with the board. you must order both items. I also recommend you simulate your circuit in TINA. you can use this reference design as a starting point http://www.ti.com/product/LPV821/toolssoftware
