THS4521: Single ended to fully differential output problem

Part Number: THS4521
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TINA-TI

Hi team,

My customer want to THS4521 in their project. And they want to use the it to convert single ended signal to fully differential output.

The input is 0-3V, gain = 1, output common mode voltage 1.5V. However, I simulate this circuit in TINA, the output is abnormal(low voltage with distortion). The circuit and the output waveform is as below. I think the circuit configuration is OK. But the output is abnormal. Could you help solve the problem?

  • Hi Will,

if I draw the circuit in my TINA-TI, it works. But your file does not work with my TINA-TI. It has to do with your THS4521 macro.

  • Hi Will,

Yes, this does indeed appear to be an issue with the TINA model. It is limited the output "low" voltage to about 700mV. The strange thing is that it works with the amplifier configured with +/- 2.5V supplies and the common mode set to -1 V, which is equivalently the same. I will get in touch with the modelling team to fix the issue, but your circuit looks fine.

    Regards,
