INA828: Offset Voltage and Operating Temperature

Part Number: INA828
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: INA188,

Hi,

1. In page-5 of datasheet VOSI is specified for a Gain=100. Can you please tell me this specification at Gain=1? I would like to get typical, Max values at 25C and max value over the operating temperature of the IC.

2. As per datasheet the operating temperature is -50C to 150C even though the IC is specified from -40C to 125C. Is there any plan to uprate this part to operate from  -55C to 125C (or 150C)?

My products operating temperature requirement is from -55C to 125C.

Thanks

Shihab

  • Hi Shihab,

The Input stage offset is specified at a gain of 100 because this virtually eliminates the offset contribution from the output stage. The input stages contribution to offset in a gain of 1 is the same, but it is impossible to distinguish it from the input referred offset voltage of the output stage in a low gain configuration. The typical and max specs in the datasheet are valid.

As far as the operating temperature of the INA828, there are no plans to release this in an extended temp range, however we are planning to release the INA188 in an automotive Q grade and this will satisfy your temperature requirements.
  • Hi Kaye,

Whether the Automotive qualified component's operating temperature will be from -55C to +125C and the package is SOIC-8?

    Thanks,

    Shihab.

  • Hi Shihab,

do you really need -55°C? And hopefully you are not willing to run the chip at ambient temperatures above +125°C, are you?

    Kai
  • Hi Kai,

yes, my requirement is -55C to 125C only.

    thanks
    Shihab.
  • Shihab,

Yes, the INA188-Q1 will span -55C to +125C temp range and be released in an SOIC-8 package. I'm not certain when this device will be available, but we are aiming to release it next year.
