LMH3401: LHM3401

Part Number: LMH3401

Can I sum two 50 ohm input signals while maintaining isolation between the two sources?  These opamps are currently in use on a prototype PCB and I need to maintain a 50 ohm input load impedance for each source.  Currently the source impedance of one source degrades the input load impedance of the other source.

  • Hi James,

Have you tried using an RF balun or splitter/combiner for summing two 50-ohm input signals? You should be able to use Mini-circuits balun such as ZFSCJ-2-1-S+ depending upon frequency for the summing operation. I would recommend using a 6-dB attenuator at each of the two sources in-order to provide adequate isolation while summing.

If you are using the LMH3401 for the summing operation, then would it be possible for you to attach your schematic in-order to understand the problem better?

    Best Regards,
    Rohit
