AMC1200: AMC1200 EMC

Part Number: AMC1200

Dear TI  engineer:

My customer used AMC1200 for voltage sampling in Automotive PTC heating system, but the product can't pass the EMC RE test, then customer used optocoupler to replace AMC1200, and pass the EMC RE test.

So how to reduce the AMC1200 radiation when design, please give me some recommendation. Does the radiation is the 10MHz?

        Thanks!

  • Hi Eric,

Designing for EMC compliance is something that needs to be approached from a system level. Without seeing your schematics and layout used for this AMC1200 application, it is hard to give specific details. In general though, power supply filtering and proper bypass capacitors play a large role in both emissions and immunity. Layout also plays a large role, from the use of ground and power planes to routing the input and output traces as differential signals. For the AMC1200, the 10MHz could potentially be an issue, but you would need to look at the plots from the screening to see what frequencies were out of limits. Depending on the specification and screening level involved, there may have been higher frequency components here.

    Thanks a lot!
