AMC1100: AMC1100 in SMPS feedback

We are developing an isolated DC-DC Converter with an output voltage of 800V DC and it is operating frequency is 100KHz. To maintain isolation between the output and PWM controller section, we would like to use an Isolated differential amplifier AMC1100 in the voltage feedback. Can i use AMC1100 in voltage feedback?

Please suggest.

Hi Ravi,

Yes, you can use the AMC1100 for voltage sensing as shown in Figure 32 (page 14 of the datasheet), however the AMC1100 is optimized for use in current sensing applications with low value shunt resistors (i.e. milli-ohms). The input range to the AMC1100 is only +/-250mV.

You might want to look at the AMC1311 instead. This part is meant for use in voltage sensing applications and has an input voltage range of 0-2V.
