AMC1311: Input impedance

Part Number: AMC1311

Hello,

I'd linke to use the AMC1311 to sense a Voltage of about 2kV. I used a voltage devider according to Page 23 of the Datasheet. I used 10Meg For R1 and R2 and 20k for Rsense. Nevertheless the voltage is much lower than 2V on the input (and output).

Is a additional opamp for driving the AMC1311 recommended?
The datasheet does show an additional resistor RF and CF what values are recommended?

  • Hello Stefan,

Thank you for your interest in the AMC1311 and welcome to the forums!

Your math checks out, so I'm not sure why you're seeing less than 2V. What value are you reading exactly?

Can you provide a picture of your schematic?

For this use case, an additional opamp to drive the input of the AMC1311 is not necessary.

Filter design is dependent on frequency. What frequency is your 2kV signal operating at?
