THS7530: THS7530 Noise Figure in AC Single-Ended Input Configuration

Hello TI Forum,

I have a question on the THS7530 noise figure.  The data sheet noise figure references Figure 16, which uses a RF-transformer to generate the differential input.  I would like to drive the THS7530 from a single-ended 50 ohm source applied to Vin using the circuit shown in data sheet Figure 19.  Will I still get the same noise figure performance shown in data sheet Figure 3 with the single ended input?

    Hi Tim,

    the circuit of figure 19 has more resistor noise between the inputs compared to the circuit of figure 18. Also, due to the asymmetrical input circuitry of figure 19 the supply voltage noise being injected by the 1k voltage divider is no longer suppressed by the common mode rejection of THS7530 but is partially converted into a differential signal which now becomes amplified by the THS7530. So, yes, the noise should rise a bit.
