INA138: 100mA current sensing ic

Part Number: INA138

Dear TI,

I have reviewed INA138 before.

Is this IC still usable?

In addition, when using the INA138, is it possible to sense current of about 100mA?

If you have any other recommending IC, please recommend it.

thanks,

TS

  • Hello TS Yang,

The device is active with no indication of being end-of-lifed, so yes it is usable. Its input bias current is only 10uA at most over the entire operating temperature range, so it can definitely sense 100mA. However, be sure to factor offset voltage into your design, to limit the max error over your current measurement range.
