Part Number: ONET-10G-EVM

Hi,

I have a couple of questions:

1. I am looking for a guide or a manual for the EVM and schematics for the boards, but I cant find one. Could you please send me a link?

2. You have informed me that I am supposed to have my own TOSA and ROSA, but the ROSA has to have TI - ONET8551 Transimpedance amp. Could you please recommend me any commercially available ROSA - TOSA parts that are compatible?

    Hi Lizon,

    Thanks for your interest in our parts.

    1) The user guide and schematics come with the purchase of the EVM. If you have purchased an EVM and need the documents, please send an email to onet1130ex_evm@list.ti.com.

    2) You could use the TOSA and ROSA used to test the EVM, which are listed below. You can view the test results on the TIDA-00088 page.

    TOSA: TX293k, NX8349TS, NX8349TB

    ROSA: I believe the SRO2-10F-LC-T-I is used to test the design, but I am not 100% sure. I am doing some digging to confirm this and will get back to you once I do. If not, then the companion ROSA for the NX8349TB TOSA is the NR4215TG, and that might work. I'm sorry that I cannot provide a clear answer on this, the design was released several years ago and the creator is no longer with TI. 

    You could use any commercially available MSA-compliant 10G ROSA that includes ONET8551T in it.

    Thanks, I do have couple of questions before I purchase it:
    1. The electric input connections are SMAs I believe.
    2. What is the impedance of the TX and RX traces. Is it 50 ohms because its connected to SMA or is it 100 ohms as called by LVDS/JESD204 high speed protocols? If they are 50 ohms, can I use this board to test the transmission of high speed data from current mode outputs like LVDS and JESD204?

    Hi Lizon,

    1.) Yes, the connections are SMA.

    2.) The RX and TX traces are 50 ohms (100 differential). I'm not sure about the LVDS and JESD204 protocols. As long as the data rates and input voltage swings fall within the device specifications, you should be good to go. The RX data interfaces with the ONET1151P and the TX data interfaces with the ONET1151L.

    On another note, I've confirmed that the above mentioned ROSA is the correct part and you should reach out to Cosemi if you would like to purchase one.
