INA226: INA226: Usage of VBUS feature

Part Number: INA226

Hi,

We have used INA226 in our design as you suggested. I am trying to measure the current for 1volt with 2mohm resistor.

I have taken care pull up resistors for I2C lines.

So please review my schematic and let me know if any anything needs to be taken care. Please observe schematic which is shown below and provide me feedbacks if any.

1.Whether VBUS should be connected to the supply side or load side?

  • Hello Sathyasai,

Thank you for choosing to use Texas Instruments in your design. I would recommend tying the VBUS pin to the supply side. As long as your max current is lower than 40.96A, your shunt value should be fine. However, if you are interested in current levels lower than 10uA, you will experience accuracy issues as the input bias current to the part is 10uA and the Vos will be larger than the ideal Vsense produced from the expected load running through your shunt.
