LMP7721: Cost is too high.

Part Number: LMP7721
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMC660, LMC662,

I want  to use a cheaper one instead of this one for the measurement of pH with resolution of 0.01 and an accuracy of +/-0.4 pH. If you suggest it would be helpful for me.

  • Hi Ajay,

the LMC660 and LMC662 are cheaper, e.g.. But you must accept a higher offset voltage then.

  • Hi Ajay,

Femtopamp input current op amps such as the LMP7721 require special processing and materials to achieve the very low currents and that is reflected in the cost. If you can relax the input bias current requirements, then lower cost options may be realized.

If you anticipate your application will involve a high volume of LMP7721 or other TI op amps, the cost may be considerably less than the 1k quantity price listed on the web page. If that is the case, then I suggest contacting your authorized TI distributor for volume pricing.
