LM311: Temperature range for revision history

Guru 19645 points
Part Number: LM311

Please let me know about mean of revision history, attached below;

I think that LM311 temperature range is 0℃~70℃, why above temperature range difference?

Best regards,

Satoshi

  • Hi Satoshi,

when you read section 8.1 of datasheet everything should be clear then.

    Thank you for reply,

Section 8.1 is described "The LM311 has a temperature range of 0°C to +70°C. The LM211Q has a temperature range of −40°C to +125°C.".
Revision History is described "The LM311 has a temperature range of −40°C to +125°C.".

    Which is correct?

    Best regards,
    Satoshi
  • Hi Satoshi,

section 8.1 is right. See also the package option addendum at pages 24/25.

  • Hello Satoshi,

In revision I, the LM211Q text was added to section 8.1.

When we add/change text, we also have to add a separate "revision" text note that shows up in the section 4 Revision History section.

The person who did the edit simply mistyped "LM311" instead of "LM211Q" in the revision note. The section 8.1 text is correct.

The "official" temp range numbers are in the section 6.3 Recommended Operating Conditions (and they are correct). The LM311 temp range is 0°C to 70°C (the old National LM3xx consumer temp range).

I'll add that to the "to fix" for the next rev of the LM311 datasheet.
