LM339A: Maximum load capacitance value

adding a load capacitance to the output of a comparator can heavily slow down the output slew rate and increase the propagation delay times. This is especially true for a comparator with open collector output which usually uses considerable pull-up resistances. Also, when toggling low the ouput transistor will short circuit the load capacitance which will result in a considerable output current spike generating lots of ground bounce and ground noise. Even the output transistor can be damaged due to the heavy output current spike, especially if a big load capacitance is used.

About how much load capacitance are we talking about?
