Hello Aleksei,

Use the ICC+ values. In a single supply application, all the current will be sourced through the V+ pin.

The current will change depending on the output state. This is why it is important to properly bypass the supplies.

Hi Aleksei,

what do you mean with: "My supply voltage 14B; 19B." That your supply voltage is between +14V and +19V?

Hello Aleksei,

Please see the LM311-N datasheet, which has more information and graphs.

Figure 22 shows the supply current for voltages between 5V and 30V .The supply current is higher when the output is low.

Page 12 has the Application Hints section that covers bypassing and other application hints for the LM311.

The LM311-N is the original National Semiconductor version, where the LM311 is the TI second source.

Hi Aleksei,

when powering the LM311 with a single supply the Vcc- pin of LM311 should be connected to signal ground.

By stabilitron you mean a zener diode? The positive supply voltage of LM311 is genereated by a zener diode? Yes, this should work. And that's why you need to know the supply current of LM311, right? Yes, a 100n cap in parallel to the zener should be sufficient decoupling.

Why not powering the LM311 by a linear regulator? The LM78L15 could eventually be used.

Take care, also the output transistor of LM311 will draw supply current. This is the case when the output is emitting low level and the pull-up resistor is pulled-down by the output transistor. How do you want to supply this pull-up resistor?

Hello, Kai. LM311 is powered on zener diode therefore minimal input voltage LM78L15 18B (my supply 18B-> no reserve). The pull-up resistor is powered on zener diode.
