OPA857: Operating OPA857 From a Negative Rail

Part Number: OPA857

I have an application that requires the OPA857 to operate from a negative rail.  So the first thing I attempted was to run a Tina simulation with VCC inputs tied to GND and GND tied to -3.3V.  I found and TI confirmed the Tina model does not function when operated like this.  TI claims that the part will operate like this but the SPICE model will not.

So I obtained an OPA857EVM to try it out on a bench.  The part shorts out my power rails when operated in this mode seeming to indicate that a diode(s) are being forward biased requiring the part to only be powered from a positive supply.

Has anyone attempted this configuration?  Can TI provide insight into what may be happening?
