Capacitor BTW input pins

Hello team,

This is a question about how to use general op-amps.

Are there any application notes and documentation stated about connecting a capacitor between OPAMP's INV and NONINV input terminals?

I sometimes see application notes and notes that prohibit connecting capacitors between input terminals. I think that TI products are in similar situation, but please let me know if there is any material that explains (notes) that precaution.

Hi Hide,

In general, this is not something we recommend. Many customers feel that these caps help with filtering but in reality they mostly just interfere with the stability and proper functioning of their op-amp circuit.

I am not aware of any documentation that specifically prohibits this, but we do have some app notes and blogs that cover the impact of these types of capacitances:
